FAQ & Safety
The questions Greenville parents ask most before they enroll. If yours isn’t here, text us or bring it to your tour.
Basics
Yes. Little Monkeys is a state-licensed in-home daycare in Greenville, Michigan, run by Angie Despain since 2008. Angie holds a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, is certified in CPR and First Aid, and completes professional development every year.
We’re open Monday to Friday, 6:00am to 6:00pm.
Care is available three ways: full-time (a regular weekly schedule), part-time (billed by the hour), and before- and after-school care. See Pricing for how rates work by stage.
Yes — before- and after-school care is available, including pickup from Walnut Hills Elementary. Ask about current school-age availability.
Current openings are posted on the Home page and updated regularly. Availability changes quickly — if you don’t see a fit, ask about upcoming openings.
A typical day
Yes — breakfast, lunch, and snacks are part of every day, served family-style with the caregivers eating alongside the children. Allergies and dietary needs are accommodated in coordination with your child’s pediatrician. Full meal details are on the Pricing page.
Yes. A fenced backyard with play equipment means outdoor time whenever the weather allows.
You’ll get a clear update on how your child’s day went, so you’re not left wondering until the next morning.
Meals and snacks are provided, so no food is needed from home. Please bring 2–3 complete changes of seasonal clothes, diapers and wipes, and any infant feeding supplies or special ointments your child needs. Toys stay home, though a comfort item for nap time is welcome. Each April we ask for one bottle of our preferred sunscreen for the sunny season.
Little ones settle in for a nap after lunch, around 12:30. Older children who have outgrown naps spend that time on quiet activities like reading or puzzles. If you’d rather your child stay up, just let us know.
Health & safety
Angie has cared for children with a range of needs, including children with special needs and babies born prematurely. If your child has specific needs, the best next step is a conversation.
Please keep your child home for a fever over 100.4°F by mouth or 99.4°F under the arm along with a change in behavior, or for vomiting, diarrhea, sore throat, stiff neck, a rash, mouth sores, difficulty breathing, or a communicable illness such as COVID-19.
Let us know at least an hour before your usual start time, and please have a back-up care plan ready for these days. We check children at drop-off and again through the day.
After a fever, vomiting, or diarrhea, your child can come back once they have been symptom-free for 24 hours without medication masking the symptoms. If your child is diagnosed with a communicable illness, please tell us within 24 hours, and we will let you know if your child has been exposed here.
Your child is released only to you and the people listed as authorized on your registration paperwork. If someone else needs to pick up, we need your permission in advance, either verbally or in writing. Anyone we have not met before will be asked to show identification.
If your child has not been picked up by 6:15pm and we cannot reach you, we will call the emergency contacts on file.
Getting started
Start by scheduling a tour, so you can see the home, meet Angie, and ask your questions in person. If it’s a good fit, the next step is an enrollment form. Pricing is posted openly, so you can weigh it before you commit.
Fees are based on booked days, not attendance, and cover sick days, holidays, and vacation as paid days. There are no refunds or credits for absences. Your weekly rate lowers at 24 months and again at potty-training. Full details are on the Pricing page.
